With the release 1.18.0 (released on 07.04.2021), the mein.digitalSTROM add-on app on the dSS has also been renewed. This article explains the new connection establishment process (also called on-boarding) between dSS and dS Cloud step by step.
Step 1 - Open the my.digitalSTROM app
On the dSS, open the my.gitalSTROM add-on app.

If the dSS is not connected to the dS Cloud at the time, the following page will appear
Figure 2
Otherwise, the page shown in Figure 8 will appear
The button "Manage user account" opens https://accounts.digitalstrom.com where you can log in to your my.digitalSTROM account.
If you don't have a mein.digitalSTROM account yet, then section 1 in the figure would have to be done first.
Otherwise, you can start directly with step 2 in the figure.
Step 2 - Sign Up
Next, you have to click on the button, "Make connection". A new login mask will open further down the view

In the login mask, log in with your my.digitalSTROM account
Step 3 - Choose your apartment
After the account details have been successfully verified, the apartment to which the dSS is to be connected must be selected. Here you have to distinguish between the following two cases:
Case 1: a new apartment is created - You have to confirm this selection and then choose a name for the new apartment.

Case 2: there is already an apartment associated with this account - You have to confirm this by clicking on the apartment and then clicking "next"

Step 4 - Connection is complete.
After clicking on "next" in step 3, the apartment is created and linked to the dSS. At the end of this process, if successful, a success message will appear briefly.

After that, the overview page appears.
- It will be shown which my.digitalSTROM account you are connected to
- It shows whether you have an active connection to the dS Cloud. This state is relevant for the dS SmartHome app to function correctly.
- Remote access link - This is the link that allows remote access to the dSS configurator.
-
- Note: if you "re-connect" the dSS to the cloud (i.e. you have reconnected the dSS to an existing apartment), it can sometimes take up to 10 minutes for this remote link to run stably again. With a new connection, the long-distance link is stable from the start.
