At the moment digitalSTROM cannot be used with Apple HomeKit yet. Our system is designed to integrate seamlessly into the house. Using the standard control elements (wall push-buttons), all functions can be controlled with a simplicity that also allows older people and/or visitors to use the Smarthome.
Of course, we integrate a variety of devices (such as Philips Hue lamps, Osram Lightify, Ikea TRÅDFRI, V-Zug kitchen appliances, iKettle kettles, Netatmo weather stations, Logitech IR remote controls, Hekatron smoke detectors, Rehau ventilation systems and many more) as well as various services such as IFTTT. We also integrate language assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and our own dS Listener. As far as the language assistants are concerned, the manufacturers of these systems set requirements that are either very difficult to meet or simply do not fit structurally into our system. Various providers of such systems require that all data is transmitted for use. digitalSTROM has deliberately decided against the transmission of customer data and has therefore developed extensions (skills) which can nevertheless control our system. Therefore, it is also necessary to call the extension in each case (this results in e.g. "Alexa, say"): "Alexa, say digitalSTROM to switch on the light in the living room"). This measure limits the transmission of superfluous and private data to an absolutely necessary minimum, such as room name and mood scene. The result of such a call is known only to the digitalSTROM system and is not passed on to third parties.
Back to Apple HomeKit: Today's possibilities are far from what we imagine and wish for. We cannot press our structure (rooms, areas, groups, moods, user-defined actions, automatisms) into the still very limited structures of HomeKit. For this reason, we do not currently support HomeKit.
