All newer servers released from 2015 onwards have approximately the same high performance. Their use, therefore, depends on the application and location. digitalSTROM will not carry out any performance measurements between the new servers. They are all quite identical in terms of performance. The significantly larger RAM makes sense for larger installations (with more than 100 digitalSTROM terminal blocks). In addition, the higher performance is clearly noticeable when operating via smartphone apps and when controlling Sonos players, for example, since a lot has to be communicated with these players.
The older servers will of course not be restricted in their function in the future. However, it may well be that future system extensions for IP devices, device bots, etc. can only be offered for the more powerful servers (from 2015).
I want to enter the world of digitalSTROM and don't need any digitalSTROM terminal blocks at first.
Choose dSS-IP.
I already have a dSS-IP and would like to use digitalSTROM terminal blocks as well.
Use dSS20 as gateway, or replace the dSS-IP with a dSS20.
